Cindy Gibson

Cindy is Superintendent of the Georgia Academy for the Blind and has served 45 years in Georgia’s public schools as choral director, English teacher, Special Education teacher, Teacher of the Visually Impaired, Assistant Principal, Principal and Superintendent. Additionally, she was Music Director for a local church for 27 years.

She has served as Superintendent of the Georgia Academy for the Blind – the gem of Georgia - for the past 10 years. Cindy resides in Macon with her husband, Jamie Gibson. They have three children, three grandchildren and a canine companion PayneStewart.

Cindy says she is proud to have been a graduate of Leadership Macon Class of 2001, which spurred her fervor and advocacy for support for public schools, the heartbeat of every community. She is forever grateful for the opportunity to serve students with disabilities and their families.
